I read Chapter 3 of it last night, online. It was good enough to get me hooked. However, they make explicit mention of Poes story, which put me off.

I think it was more in the sense that Poe wrote the story, but it's an actual story. i.e.: Poe ghost wrote it, sorta, not really.

So I'm a bit more than half way through the Verne sequal. It's quite good. The mentioning of Poes story turned out to work really well. I'll post again once I've finished. Probably by the end of the week. I haven't much time to read these days.
