Squirrels make excellant woodland friends, as do raccoons.
But they are not suitable as house pets.
Having animals as friends not pets, can be a satisfying and enriching experience.
Our greyhounds quickly accepted the squirrels and raccoons as members of the family, once they realized that they didn't pose a threat to their petting rights.
The cat was simply amused.

I thinks having a some sort of fruit bat for a pet would be a pretty cool idea

The False Vampire bats are suitable as pets-they cheerully gobble bits of ground beef tossed into the air and rest on the shoulder or hang upside down from a convenient perch.
They can also scare the bejesus out of guests.

Yah the onlything I'd be concerned with is the gauno production, also I read somewere that smaller bats usually urinate constantly when they eat so they are still capable of flight
