Title says it all, authors you'd love or would have to see writing in the mythos.
1. Edgar Allen Poe - could never have happened obviously, but that would be a page turner
2. Phillip K. Dick - A drug-induced touch with the gods...
3. J.R.R. Tolkien - Why Not?
4. Dan Brown - It would be interesting, to say the least.
5. J.K. Rowling - Again, why not, could be good...
tell me yours.

Terry Pratchett...Thats right!

Pratchett takes the piss out of the Mythos on a regular basis.
Dick probably wouldn't work well in the Mythos - his stuff's too focused on individuality and human qualities.
Dan Brown? Don't ever use those words again.
However... Joseph Conrad would probably write a mean space horror story. Read "Heart of Darkness", replace all instance of 'Kurtz' with 'Cthulhu', and it is a Mythos story.

Harry Harrison...he'd add a 1970's futurist touch to the mythos

those are some good choices. I didn't think of wells or herbert, Dante would be fucked up. I dunno about Crowley, was he really an author?
