I saw a review for this (from E3) somewhere, and, although the graphics are sub-par it still sounds interesting. I'd probably rent it rather than buy it though...and the deep ones look hella cool (I was searching through the galleries trying to a picture of Cthulhu himself, but only saw a few tentacles).
Edit: I take back what I said about the graphics, while they aren't the best, they still look pretty good

Should be (hopefully) out around October of this year (at least the PC version).. I think I will be obligated to automatically like it, but we will see how it is

Ooh Man did you look at the PC Screen shots, in the one with the dissection to the right of the man is crystal in a pedestal and a brain in some kind of holding box, to his left is some kind of implant, past that are a pair of lungs and going off the screen is some alien control panel.
I haven't seen this one before thanks!

This game has been in progress for quite some time. I recently read a Computer Gamer (I think) article on it. Supposedly its nearing completion for sometime this year.
The writer of the article seemed to know a decent amount about Lovecraft, and claimed that it looks to be the most faithful Lovecraft base game ever. I am eager to check it out

Wow, I don't think I've bought a game in 3 or 4 years, I mostly play WarCraft II & III and StarCraft but I'll definately look into this.

Just got it today I have a feeling it will be a very short & very linear game. That said it looks great and the atmosphere is perfect, muddy colors, howling winds and the general cold breath of cthulhu on the back of your brain. Ill post more if sanity permits.

Well, it looks like it's no DOOM. And that's the mark for a good game, in my eyes - if it can tear me away from the Cyberdemon for long enough to play it, it's worth buying.

BTW I have to say this: TheDude has a nice avatar

I was making great Lebowsi avatars just the other day.
About the game I'm pretty sceptical. Could be a flop like the Thing game.

There's a Thing game?

Oh yeah. But it was so badly done that I didn't bother to finish it. Facts were all messed up and the "trust" system had only four options. Like give a weapon to a scared soldier and he'll trust you in a second. And blood tests didn't work in the game and so on. Total rubbish.

If you ignore the Thign references, was it decent? Or was it a total piece of shit with the name tacked on to boost sales?

No it was actually said to be an unofficial sequel to the movie but not licensed propely or something. As a shooter it was average, third-person style. But the enemy kept spawning like crazy, like little Things that were in the shapes of human heads. As the Thing couldn't clone itself it's impossible to fathom where it got enough victims to assimilate to produce hundreds of them.

Okay, then. I prefer my shooters first person, with the exception of the Metal Gear series, and the Transformers game.

Well the Residend Evil remake on GC was in third person and heavy as s***.
