About damn time!
I Agree!

Spet it would be nice to even see a good sci-fi movie in the near future

Very true; especially since direct to video became profitable.

Skeleton Key is definitely not a B movie, though, and is worth a watch. It's not the greatest horror flic out there, but it's far from the worst and north of mediocre.

It's a rehash of the Mephisto Waltz, but since so few people remember that one, it's ok.
I also liked "Pulse"(I know, it sucked monkey balls.)for a creative take on the EVP thing.
It also reminded me of an old scifi classic, which had radio and TV signals returning to Earth and making electronic communication impossible.
The signals were energy based life, and were called 'vaders'.
Things that make you go hummmmmmh?

It's a good spookaroo, reminds me of Kathe Koja's horror work.
She writes kid's books now, but once upon a time, she wrote tales that could grow hair on a doorknob!

show me a hairy doorknob, and i'll show you a frightened doorknob
A monkey riding a dog is probably the awesomest thing that could ever happen.

Read Koja's "Skin", then prepare to trim your doorknob!

Only if the hair is standing on end. If the hair is well groomed, the doorknob is getting ready to pick up chicks.

This talk of sci-fi films has had me go and draft a list of the films I recommend in the genre, and the ones I still need to see. Think I'll post it later, along with how I rate what I have seen. Because I need something to stroke my big mod ego.
