Larry McMurtry. He's a western writer, but if he could pull himself away from that and tackle a mythos book, well, it might just be better than anything Lovecraft ever wrote.

Mythos works in any time period, I'd like to see more sci-fi mythos like Walls of Eryx

Ktulu wrote:Title says it all, authors you'd love or would have to see writing in the mythos.

1. Edgar Allen Poe - could never have happened obviously, but that would be a page turner
2. Phillip K. Dick - A drug-induced touch with the gods...
3. J.R.R. Tolkien - Why Not?
4. Dan Brown - It would be interesting, to say the least.
5. J.K. Rowling - Again, why not, could be good...

tell me yours.
Hunter S. Thompson
Something-Something Aramata (the Teito Monogatari guy)
Scott Ciencin ('cause he's pulpy)
Poppy Z. Brite (but like a real one)

But heres the important stuff, who should make mythos films:
Ishiro Honda
PAtrick Tatopolous (i wanna see him make a practical Shub-Niggurath)
Takashi Miike
some other guys...

maybe i'll finish this post later? Heh... finnish.
look at the time... with your eyeballs.

go on now, do it.

Mythos films? John Carpenter, Jim Cameron and Ridley Scott come to mind.

kevin smith writes dialogue so genuine, you'll swear you're not watching a movie at all!

That's a joke, right? I mean, I love his films, but everything sounds so contrived. And for the Mythos? Fuck no.

Naw, if he ironed out the contrivances, he'd be amazing. I love "Clerks" and "Mallrats", and the other films are worth a watch as well.
