From Beyond Re-release

Post by alx »

I am both shocked and appalled at the lack of discussion about the DVD release of From Beyond. Even if this were a simple DVD version of the film, it should warrant discussion, but there is new footage and a smacktastic commentary

Or have I missed the thread?

its because From Beyond sucked...it was shot with the same style and actors as Re-animator, but it just didn't cut it...for shame...

A monkey riding a dog is probably the awesomest thing that could ever happen.

I didn't think it was bad. Not great, but better than most big-screen tripe marketed as a Lovecraft tale.

Then again, I was 16 when I saw it, and I'm sure the naked blond chick was a critical factor of my assessment.

No love for the film...

Sure, it could've been done better but I always liked the film regardless. Jeff and Barb together again, what's not to like?

I loved that film, i know it's not the best lovecraft film but it is better than most (just saw die monster die, now that sucked). Does anyone know if it will be released on region 2?

The 4th is meant to be out this year. It's called House of Re-Animator and has something to do with politics and The White House :?

To be honest, I've only ever seen the 1st one and I didn't like it much. I know it's generally ranked as one of the best Lovecraft adaptations, but the whole humour thing didn't work for me. Each to their own I guess.

For those interested, the other 3 are:

*Re-Animator (1985)
*Bride of Re-Animator (1990)
*Beyond Re-Animator (2003)

Man I really like the first Re-animator, so much so that I totally bought it last night at future shop. It came with a special addition H.P Lovecraft highlighter...where the hell is the relevant in that?
