The movie "Mortuary"

Post by The Ziggurat »

Has anyone here seen the movie Mortuary. My friend found it in the $5.00 bin at Walmart.
He said it was good and let me watch it.
And, even though the movie is just "pretty good", In a graveyard in the movie, you see the words in a tomb "that is not dead which can eternal.........so on". I was like, DAMN, that's awesome. And not to give the movie away, but...........the final revelation of the movie is a SHOGGOTH type creature at the bottom of a pit.

So even though the movie was alright, I had to buy it.

Anyone else seen this?

I watched Necronomicon online yesterday, it had Rats in the Wall, Cool Air and Whisperer in the Darkness. Probably the most inaccurate bullshit Lovecraft takes I've ever seen in my life! It was soooooo badddd...Rats in the Wall didn't have a single Rat in it, and was about some guy using the Necronomicon to bring bad his dead girl friend and he had to fight some big octopus face monster. I couldn't even watch Cool Air it was so drawn out and lame...and Whisperer was about a crazy southern couple who stole cops peoples brains to reproduce, the Mi-gos were a little neat though...overal I rate it as SHIT!

It does have Jeffery Combs in it though.

I loved the mortuary, I always seem to catch it on the Scifi channel. Theres one part of the movie that irritates me though...the mom is standing by a coffin, and every time they cut to a different scene, shes standing somewhere else in the room or shes moving her arms, but shes never in the same spot. I'm OCD like that.

Has anyone seen In The Mouth Of Madness?
I don't think it is from any of Lovecrafts books, but it seems lie it was influenced heavily by Lovecraft and King.

I would say In the Mouth of Madness is probably one of the best Lovecraftian movies ever made.
It's not a direct Lovecraft story, but the premise and the reality bending horror of it are unparalleled.

I watched a great movie called 'Eden Log' recently.
It had a very Lovecraft feel to it...
Onlything is, the version that I watched was in French.
But if you can speak it, its a good movie.

The Lovecraft movies are so bad. They should just stop or make them all animated

I liked Dagon and loved In The Mouth of Madness. I thought Mortuary was crap though and agree with the above statement about Necronomicon. Even Jeffery Combs couldn't salvage that one.

The Dunwich Horror was a very good film.
