Hi , i and my friend have produced a short animation movie based on the character of Lovecraft , we finished it just a couple of days ago and now we want to show it to to some lovecraftian people .
Very impressed by that work. Quite inventive and despite the static images (or cutouts) you gave them a great sense of movement.
I assume aftereffects was the program used? It's usually a very distinct style.
The sounds, and the crescendo towards the encounter with Azathot was very well paced and creepy.
The only part that I would have done slightly differently is when Dagon rises from the ocean - this is great, but as he rises, so does some large pillar - it blends too much into the figure of Dagon and rises in time with Dagon too, so its very hard to separate them visually.
yes i used it , in conjunction of photoshop for coloring the drawings
otherwise this not my first lovecraftian production ...
we did Nyarlathotep , Dagon and recently At the mountain of madness expecially this last one was very hard to do , it took 1 year of work ...
Unfortunately those three shorts are completely italian in the language , and of course in the voiceover .... but if you want to see them (even for watching the video scenes)
you can find them here : http://www.thetillinghast.altervista.org/home.html
iä! iä! Cthulhu fhtagn!
Absolutely awesome! Probably just the sort of wild phantasmagoria that inspired old Theobaldus to pen his greatest work. The animation was excellent and extremely compelling, but what really awed me were the amazing sound effects, from the distant traffic of Old Providence to Dagon's roar and the crazed, incessant piping of the mad flutists.
Easily one of the best Lovecraftian short films out there.
bravo! i've recommended you for a spotlight on the Fantastic Horror blog. i'll check out your other videos although i don't understand italian
A monkey riding a dog is probably the awesomest thing that could ever happen.
