Dagon Radio - Pre-production Plans

Post by Aleister »

Ok, there is a lot to plan for this project, so we need to get everything laid out.

1) Content - this is the first thing to consider. I mean nailing down exactly what it will be (at least for the first session). Whichever of you (deca or lag most likely) want to be the co-ordinator for this, let us know! I mean deciding on exactly what will be in it.

2) Production - once the episode (better word?) is planned, we can then move on to recording what needs to be recorded, and gathering up music etc.. Getting all the pieces we need.

3) Arrangement - Deciding how to mix it all. I can handle all of the actual mixing unless someone else wants to handle that. We need to make sure to make it as nice as possible (sound quality = professionalism), so those of you who have more sound recording experience may be able to handle it better. I have a good deal of exp. with standard sound editors anyway.

4) Execution - Several parts to this, which we can decide more on once we have the final product. This involves the actual hosting of the media, the method of streaming it and other details, as well as how we are going to 'push' the project to make people aware.

Any comments / additions / volunteers for areas?

I would be happy to help. I am happy enough to have any of my tales used.

I will begin work on a theme for the intro for this radio program, when I get home from work tonight. No, it will not be dancey or techno-ish. I will make it relevant to be honorific enough for such a task.

I figure we open each broadcast (there's your better word) with the infamous couplet, then end it each time with the last few lines from 'Dagon'.
Also, I could supply some fiction to be read, if you need any.

For the first broadcast, you should build up to the reading of a piece of fiction, with any songs related ot the Mythos, then a few snippets of discussion, quotes from Lovecraft/other Mythos authors (especially ones lifted from any of the fictional tomes), then end with the fiction being the last piece on the broadcast.

Yes it is an old project which never really got off the ground. I am still willing to do what I can, I just do not have the time to manage the whole project unfortunately, and no one seemed to want to take that job :P
