Albion Online: the Ability to Fame Farm

Post by blade-soul »

We are living in the days of trammel friends. The ability to fame farm in the green and yellow zones has killed the red zones. My guild of a whole 4 people roamed for 4 supposed prime time hours on this monday night, and ran into 6 people. Not killed 6. We saw 6. Of the 6 we killed 4. 4 Kills in 4 hours.

You know who you find in red and black zones now? Either nobody or you find a zerg.

You know what you find in Albion Online Silver market, smokey bay, tourmouth, amisbridge, and all the other green zone cities.120 or more people.

This was a particularly slow night, but open world pvp has been declining ever since people have been allowed fame farming in protected areas. There is no point to go to a red zone when a person can just farm t6 elities in a yellow zone.

Maybe player numbers aren't declining, but the population has shifted to trammel.

My suggestion is make it so people will farm in red zones once more, or nerf the crap out of yellow and green zone fame so people won't farm there anymore unless they want to spend literally 10 times the hours faming.

i really hate the entire concept about these its pritty much a "Albion Online Gold" (killing the boss) for 30~ minutes of safe farming (amazing fame even)
i would rather see the portal dungeons be alot shorter and the first boss be worth more ~
(so the boss taking like 5 minutes perhaps while the dungeon takes 10 minutes)

about the next update
the "incapacitated state" worries me a bit ... it seems to make outnumbering your oponent even stronger
on this trent there are actually quite a few things that point to them going back on the skill vs zerg thing

meteor nerfs, anti-zerg mechanics being way less effective then the previous test, and next update/test the incapacitated state being added. all of this makes it a bit meh

also the new siege mechanic somewhat worries me in terms of albion online silver farming. can a large guild now pressure a small guild into having a negative defender bonus?

on the other side tho u can't get into endgame without going towards the black zones
T7 and above mats are just impossible to get anywhere else.
also for the good gear you are forced to do hellgates (pritty much a 50% chance of getting a 5 V 5 fight).
