Howard Phillips Lovecraft
Born in Providence, Rhode Island, Howard Phillips Lovecraft (1890-1937) was a writer of horror fiction. While never having much popularity in his day, he is considered by many to be one of the most influencial horror writers of all time. Lovecraft created many places and creatures which found their way into the works of many other authors, and even movies, and would eventually become what is known as the Cthulhu Mythos.
