The Culling

They came to hand me their salted woes.
I inhaled their every wish and hope.
They begged for a release from bondage.
I gave them the stygian depths to bathe in.

Eternally,
a chorus rang out,
banging against the deepest trenches.
My dominion is without sunshine,
here where the dead men tell tales…
